Collaborative Ministries
FRANCISCAN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES
Sponsored jointly by the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities and the Conventual
Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate Conception Province, Franciscan Collaborative Ministries is separately incorporated. The vision for FCM is to bring peace and reconciliation to Syracuse's communities. Currently FCM provides outreach services that include a health clinic for the uninsured, a legal clinic, a sandwich program, a food pantry, education services, campus ministry at Syracuse University and a Franciscan presence at the "marketplace" called The Franciscan Place at the Carousel Center. From this ministry, with all its various programs, has grown the beginnings of the Assisi Movement, a movement that values collaboration and mutuality with many other agencies, persons and movements that are working toward the same goals of empowering people, renewing the neighborhood and strengthening relationships as does the Assisi Movement. From this has sprung the beginnings of many programs that reach out into the community engaging others and working cooperatively to achieve results. FCM maintains strong ties with the diocese, following the modeling given to us by Francis. FCM (and the Assisi Movement) struggle with finding means to financially support these ministries and this movement. Click here for more info
