Hoboken, New Jersey
Sister Norberta Hunnewinkel was a junior High School teacher in the states of New York and New Jersey for a number of years. She is a strong advocate for the poor and needy as well as peace and social justice issues.
Upon leaving the educational profession she became a Director of a homeless shelter in Hoboken, New Jersey. Sister continues her ministry at the Communities of Faith for Housing at the Hoboken Shelter as a Case Manager and Social Worker for the homeless.
Sister Norberta enjoys spending time with two teenagers for whom she is a foster mom as well as being an avid reader.
Sister truly exemplifies the charism of St. Francis and St. Clare in her ministry to the needy in today's society.
