Ways to Give to the Sisters of St. Francis

  • make_gift.JPGPrayers
Prayers for our sisters, our ministries and vocations are always welcome.

    Make a Gift by Mail

Unrestricted gifts are simple to make, immediately effective and easily earmarked for our current needs. They are usually made by check, cash or credit card (MasterCard and Visa). Gifts may be made annually, semi-annually or monthly. Gifts to the Sisters of St. Francis are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock
Gifts of appreciated stock may be transferred electronically or by transferring the stock certificate to us.

Planned Giving Opportunities

Bequests
Bequests in your will are a way many people choose to remember the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities. You may do so in your will in several ways. You may specify a certain dollar amount, or as an alternative, leave us a percentage of your estate. Another option is to provide for your family first and still leave something for us by leaving us the residue of the estate. The residue is simply whatever is left of your assets after your other beneficiaries have received their bequests.

Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets
When you bequeath retirement plan assets to your heirs, you are leaving them heavily taxable assets. Bequeathing retirement plan assets to us will allow you to make a large gift without any tax consequences, saving other non-taxable assets for your heirs.

Life Insurance Policies
Life insurance policies provide another vehicle of giving. In donating a paid-up policy, which has outlived its original purpose, the donor can deduct the replacement value of the policy. By purchasing a new policy and naming the Sisters of St. Francis as owner and beneficiary, future premiums paid on the policy are deductible as cash contributions.

For more information about including the Sisters of St. Francis in your estate plan, please contact Paul Stabile at (412) 821-2200 ext. 217 or pstabile@sosf.org
