Appoints Sister William Marie Eleniki, OSF as President of Two Entities
HONOLULU—St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii has appointed Sister William Marie Eleniki, OSF, as president of
St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii and St. Francis Residential Care Community effective July 1. She succeeds Eugene N. Tiwanak, who retired in January after 30years of service.
Sister William Marie, a longtime educator, just finished the school year as principal at St. Michael’s School in Waialua. As President of St. Francis Healthcare Foundation, she will oversee all fund raising efforts and community education programs. As President of St. Francis Residential Care Community and its subsidiary, St. Francis Development Corporation, she will oversee the development of a 23-acre residential community that will feature senior apartment rentals, home ownership opportunities, and a “Stay Healthy at Home Health and Wellness” Program.
“Sister William Marie has been associated with our healthcare organization since 1990, and we are pleased to have her join us,” said Sister Agnelle Ching, OSF, Chief Executive Officer of St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii. “She is an outstanding leader and will be an asset to us as we move forward with a focus on caring for Hawaii’s senior population,” she added.
”I’m happy to join St. Francis Healthcare System after being on its various boards,” said Sister William Marie. “St. Francis is continuing the rich legacy of Blessed Marianne Cope, who came to the islands nearly 125 years to care for patients with leprosy. St. Francis has been a pioneer in many areas of health care and will continue to make a mark in caring for Hawaii’s people.”
