Formula Prayers
Sometimes it is helpful to use the prayers we have been taught, such as the Lord’s Prayer, the Hail Mary, the Rosary, Psalm 23 (The Lord is My Shepherd) Sometimes the words of a familiar hymn are helpful, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, etc.
These familiar prayers can be helpful when we feel the need to pray but do not have the energy for other prayer. God will give us the prayer and words we need. After all, Jesus Himself used the Psalms for his prayers. And what better prayer to offer God than the OUR FATHER since Jesus taught it to us!
